Coastal town West Kirby is the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors and is also home to some of Wirral’s favourite food establishments.

West Kirby Marine Lake offers breathtaking views across the Welsh Hills and here you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the water or complete the full peninsula walk. There’s also plenty of watersports on offer for those who want to get out on the water and feel the wind in their sails.

As you gaze out across the Marine Lake you’ll set eyes on Hilbre Island, the jewel in Wirral’s crown. At low-tide you can walk out to the island and take in the incredible views and unique wildlife that call the island home. Be sure to check tide times before heading off.

West Kirby is also the starting point for the famous Wirral Way, a 12-mile traffic-free path through stunning countryside and coastal paths.

Away from the waterfront, West Kirby old town is full of independent shops and restaurants to enjoy. Head to The Crescent, a curved street of Tudor architecture full of high-street brands and local stores.

If you want to dig deeper into the town's history you can do so with a trip to West Kirby Museum.
