Farmed by the Pimbley family, Claremont Farm includes a successful farm shop and cafe, coarse fishery, pick your own fields and bushcraft activities meaning there is plenty to do for visitors who want to sample some of the local produce grown on the land. Seasonal highlights include the pick your own strawberries and pumpkins in summer and autumn respectively and the farm cafe has a menu bursting with local treats.
Edge and Sons Butchers, New Ferry
If you’re looking for some of the best local, rare breed and organic meat then Edge and Sons Butchers in New Ferry is the place for you. Visitors can also enjoy a selection of sauces and marinades made by Debbie the “butcher's wife” to help compliment the cuts. Favourite products to pick up include curry sauce, onion gravy and individual beef wellingtons.
Brimstage Brewery, Brimstage
Brimstage Brewery is a state of the art brewing plant. Some of their most famous beers include Trapper’s Hat Bitter, a light and hoppy ale, reddish brown bitter Rhode Island Red and award-winning best bitter, Scarecrow. You can sample Brimstage Brewery beers throughout the Wirral Peninsula at various pubs and bars too!
Muffs of Bromborough
Famous locally for their award-winning gourmet sausages, Muffs of Bromborough offer cuts of meat and a hot and cold deli counter. Local favourites include their sweet cure bacon and delicious homemade golden pies.
Wirral Watercress, Childer Thornton
Did you know that Wirral has its very own watercress? Wirral Watercress in Childer Thornton produces tender stem watercress that’s supplied to local chefs, farm shops and retail outlets throughout and beyond Wirral.
Peerless Brewery, Birkenhead
Peerless Brewery is a microbrewery based in Birkenhead. The brewery produces craft-brewed beers by combining traditional techniques and fine ingredients with a modern tang. Peerless’ beers are created to appeal to all tastes, with a variety of styles and strengths on offer. Visitors can also embark on a brewery tour on the last Friday and Saturday of each month.
