Festive fun for all the family! From light switch-ons to grottos, check out the list below of what is happening in Wirral this Christmas.

Santa Paws is coming to town – 30 November, 12-4pm

There really is something for everyone this Christmas! Pooches will be treated to pupcakes, games, and a dog grotto at the canine Christmas event at Harrison Hall.

 

Oxton Xmas Lights Switch-on – 30 November, 4.30pm

Join The Oxton Society on Rose Mount for carols, mince pies, mulled wine and hot dogs. There’s also children’s entertainment, a Christmas raffle and photo opportunities with Father Christmas.

 

Port Sunlight Santa in his Grotto - 7, 8, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 and 23 December, 10am-4pm

A visit to Santa at Port Sunlight Garden Centre this year is sure to make the family smile. Once Santa has welcomed you in, he will tell a jolly story and there may even be a singalong before a gift. Tickets £9 per child with 2 adults allowed per child. No booking required. 
 

Christmas Shopping and Markets

Support local producers, artists and traders this festive period by picking up a unique present for your loved one or mouth-watering ingredients to make your Christmas meal even more memorable.

 

Lady Lever Art Gallery gift shop - open 10am – 4.30pm daily

Why not combine your Christmas shopping with lunch and a leafy stroll through Port Sunlight? Lady Lever Art Gallery has a wide range of beautiful gifts and cards available for your loved ones. If you have time, make sure you check out their gallery which houses one of the UK’s finest collections of fine and decorative art.

 

Cooking into Christmas with Chef Paul Askew – 30 November, Birkenhead Market, 11.30am – 4.30pm

Foodies and families unite – following on from the success of Wirral Food & Drink Festival, Chef Paul Askew and Adopt a School will bring together an abundance of seasonal produce, celebrating local traders. Watch Chef Paul Askew demonstrate how to make festive delights whilst the little discover how to make delicious dishes with Christmas leftovers.

 

Bromborough Village Christmas Fair – 30 November, 10am – 4pm

Head to St Barnabus Church Square for a selection of stalls as well as the chance to view the St. Barnabus Christmas Tree Festival.

 

Wirral Holistic Care Services Christmas Fayre – 30 November, 12pm – 4pm

If you’re in Wallasey, check out Wirral Holistic Care Services Christmas Fayre for tombola, toys, books, crafts, jewellery, refreshments, bric-a-brac, and Santa’s grotto

 

A Taste of Christmas – 1 December, 11am – 3pm

Heswall & District Business Association (HDBA) invite you to Heswall Hall for 'A Taste of Christmas', an event designed to showcase what the town of Heswall has to offer. You'll be amazed at what last minute ideas and treats you can pick up on the day.

 

Christmas Market at Egan Road – 7 December, 2-6pm

Come along and buy some unique Christmas gifts, sip on a Christmas cocoa, decorate your own Christmas cookie, order some treats for your family dinner and bring the little ones to meet Santa.

 

Christmas Nights in Port Sunlight – 5, 12 and 19 December, 4-8pm

Pop over to Port Sunlight for a Wirral Christmas. Festive shopping, fresh cut Christmas trees, foliage and houseplants. Gifts for all and the Port Sunlight Café will be serving a full menu on the above dates until 7pm.

 

Christmas Market in Birkenhead Priory – 8 December, 11am-4pm

Begin your Christmas month with a visit to Birkenhead Priory’s magical Christmas Market. Set in a 12th century Benedictine Priory, come along and find Christmas gifts, beautiful handmade items, lovely things to eat & drink plus music and festive entertainment for all. Whilst there you can Climb St Mary’s Tower for stunning views of the waterfront, the Liverpool skyline, Cammell Laird shipyards and Wirral.

 

Wirral Christmas Craft Fayre Thornton Hough Village Hall – 8 December, 12-4pm

Check out Wirral Christmas Craft Fayre, offering the finest local artisans with 30 local stalls such as plants, candles, ceramics and many more.

 

Christmas Parties and Entertainment

Shake off the year and celebrate your hard work with a Christmas party or night out in Wirral. From luncheons to festive performances, get dressed up and ready to celebrate. 

 

Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs Panto - 7 December - 5 January, 2pm and 7pm

Head to Floral Pavilion this Christmas time for one of the most magical pantomimes of them all - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Starring Claire Sweeney as The Wicked Queen along with Luke Walsh as The Prince, Sean Jones as Muddles and Philip Meeks as Nurse.

 

Christmas Party Nights – 11-14 December, 6.45pm for 7.30pm start

Enjoy the ultimate Christmas party experience with a whole host of incredible entertainment including amazing fire and stilt walkers, fabulous aerial performers, superb acrobats and much, much more.

 

Christmas Luncheons – 16 and 17 December, 12.30pm

Treat yourself to a wonderful Christmas Luncheon where you'll not only enjoy a Christmas inspired two-course lunch but will be entertained by Becky Brooks and her pianist singing 'Golden Oldies' from the 1920s through to the songs of today. Becky will also lead you in a sing-along with songs from WW2 as well some old-time classics.

 

A Viennese Strauss Christmas Gala - 18 December, 7.30pm

The ever Popular British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra (Last Night at the Proms) bring this populara flavour of Christmas in Vienna back to New Brighton to get the festive season off to a flying start. Enjoy a fantastic program of Viennese delights in this truly wonderful concert.
