Tall Ships Wirral

SET SAIL FOR THE TALL SHIPS WEEKEND!

The magnificent Tall Ships return to the River Mersey this Bank Holiday weekend (25-28 May), with an exciting line-up of arts and creative events taking place on both sides of the river to celebrate. Details of Wirral’s entertainment have now been released, featuring a veritable shoal of free activities for all the family to enjoy - from a dazzling light and sound display against Birkenhead Town Hall, to appearances from magical sea creatures and the unveiling of a larger-than-life bottle sculpture in New Brighton.

Hundreds of thousands are expected to visit the maritime-themed events across Liverpool City Region over the late May Bank Holiday. Wirral’s waterfront will ring with the sounds of the sea, with specially commissioned creative performances by local groups as well as internationally renowned artists. The programme of entertainment and events has been organised as part of Wirral Council’s Imagine Wirral initiative, in partnership with Culture Liverpool and with funding from Arts Council England.
