By Car:

Wirral is easily reached by road. The M53 motorway forms the spine of Wirral, running from the North to the South. The M53 connects to the M56, which in turn meets the M6.

Both Liverpool and Chester are around 30 minutes’ drive away, Chester via the motorway, and Liverpool by tunnel, via either the Kingsway (Wallasey), or Queensway (Birkenhead) tunnels. (a toll of £1.70 is payable).

By Air:

If you’re arriving in Wirral by air, Liverpool John Lennon and Manchester International airports are 45 minutes by road from Wirral.

Regular scheduled services are currently available to domestic and European destinations from Liverpool John Lennon, which is also home to easyjet, the popular low cost carrier.

Manchester Airport is the global gateway to Northern England with direct flights to many destinations world-wide. A direct train is available from Liverpool Lime Street station.

By Coach:

The National Express run coaches into and from Wirral, with neighbouring Liverpool as the main route to the rest of the country and beyond.

For a stress-free, reliable and quick way of getting to and from Wirral, look no further than a trip on the famous 'Ferry across the Mersey' A direct cross-river service operates early mornings and evenings, 7 days a week, taking just 10 minutes between Seacombe/ Woodside and the Pier Head.

Throughout the day Mersey Ferries operates River Explorer Cruises, which are the perfect way for the whole family to enjoy an unforgettable journey, departing hourly from Liverpool and Wirral.

By Train:

If you’re travelling to by train, a local rail network connects Wirral to the national rail network via Liverpool Lime Street Station.
