Cinderella, Floral Pavilion

The Floral Pavilion Theatre and Martin Dodd for UK Productions proudly present another spectacular show as they present panto favourite Cinderella.  With hit songs, a live band, a stunning bespoke set, fabulous costumes, Cinderella runs from Saturday 10th December 2016 until Sunday 8th January 2017.  The talented cast includes: This Morning’s Alison Hammond as the ‘Fairy Godmother’; the welcome return of Olivia Birchenough from Channel 5’s Milkshake! as ‘Cinderella’; comedian Tam Ryan as ‘Buttons’; and ‘Ugly Sisters’ Jamie Morris and Tarot Joseph.

Alison Hammond is ‘Fairy Godmother’.  Known for her quick wit, outrageous presenting style, and big heart, Alison’s sense of fun as an interviewer on ITV’s This Morning has seen her tap- dance with Renée Zellweger, rap with Will Smith, jam with Russel Crowe, and be serenaded by Hugh Jackman...to name just a few.  Alison also became an audience favourite in 2014’s Strictly Come Dancing. Other TV credits include her rise to fame in Channel 4’s Big Brother where she first won the hearts of the British public. She then went on to appear on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here where she was a contestant in 2010. Alison is also an accomplished actress having appeared in various TV dramas, notably Boon, Chalkface, Doctors, and three series of the BAFTA award- winning Palace Hill.

Olivia Birchenough is ‘Cinderella’. Making a welcome return, Olivia is back at the Floral following her vivacious performance as Snow White in 2014. Trained at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and with the National Youth Theatre, upon graduating, Olivia began presenting for Channel 5’s leading children’s TV strand Milkshake!. Along with presenting live links in the mornings, Olivia fronted the channel’s Bop Box series and the two nationwide theatre shows Milkshake! Party Party Live and Milkshake Live: Come Out to Play!. Olivia also presented the Milkshake Live: Bop in the Park residency at Drayton Manor Theme Park.

Tam Ryan plays ‘Buttons’. Tam gained his first role as Edward Hodgkiss in the BBC wartime drama How We Used To Live at the age of 4. He went on to train at Leeds Institute for Performing Arts and has since embarked on a successful and varied career. An accomplished actor, his TV credits include: Emmerdale, Death Comes To Pemberley, Coronation Street and Waterloo Road.  Tam can already consider himself a veteran of British pantomime and is a familiar face in the north-west having spent 5 successive years as panto comic at Manchester Opera House.

Devilish divas Jamie Morris as ‘Silly Cilla Hardup’ and Tarot Joseph as ‘Daisy Hardup’. An established and formidable entertainer, Jamie Morris has worked in many UK theatres, in both variety and Pantomime. This year will be his 19th pantomime – 14 of those have been for UK Productions and he prides himself as being “One of the best Ugly’s in the business!”. Tarot Jospeh has been entertaining Cabaret audiences for many years. Since 2006 he has been working in Turkey alongside Jamie wowing the crowds as his alter ego, Bunny Hopps. This year he and Jamie have opened their own show at Stillies Showbar Blackpool, and starting their their production company ‘J & T Productions’ resulting in producing shows here in the UK and also overseas.

Each year, the Floral’s panto builds on the success of the previous year and 2016 is no exception.  The usual three-week run has already been extended by a week to include extra school shows, more lower price options, plus the introduction of the theatre’s first Relaxed autism-friendly performance.  Tickets sales are already ahead of all previous years with 6 months to go.

Floral Pavilion Manager, David Mackenzie said:
“Our panto has become so popular in recent years with schools, groups and families, that we are now at a stage where we can increase our panto schedule to not only accommodate this extra demand, but also give us flexibility to incorporate some of the things we have wanted to do for a while, such as extra school shows, a relaxed autism friendly performance and more price variety for families.”
