David Green, landlord of the Red Fox in Thornton Hough, has been celebrating the award of Wirral Camra’s Pub of the Season.
The pub was extensively refurbished by Chester-based Brunning and Price pub group, and reopened in December last year.
“From the moment we opened our doors it felt like we belonged”, said David. “And our open fires and nooks and crannies made us a welcoming winter pub, but we’re chuffed to bits that Camra have now named us their Pub of the Season for the summer.”
The Red Fox has a large terrace wrapping around the building, and extensive landscaped gardens with a feature fountain.
“This award was given to us by Camra, commending the quality of our seven cask ale line-up to their members,” added David, “while at the same time tipping their hat to our beautiful gardens – there is no finer spot for an al fresco tipple in the sun.
“Now all we need is for the fine weather to continue...”
