Star Wars strikes back!
Following recent news of Disney’s new Star Wars trilogy going into production, Star Wars fans from across the region will gather at Spaceport for a Sci-Fi themed weekend on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March.
Organised in conjunction with Star Wars re-enactment groups, The 99th Garrison and Mint Imperials, the weekend will offer enthusiasts the chance to see a range of prop replicas and memorabilia from the Star Wars universe, including a Death Star display. Visitors will also be able to attend a Sci-Fi workshop and mingle with over 20 costumed characters including Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, Jedi, and Boba Fett, whilst exploring Spaceport's interactive, hands-on exhibits.
Councillor Liam Robinson, Chair of Merseytravel said, “This is the fourth time we have hosted a Star Wars weekend at Spaceport and the popularity grows with each event. There is a huge appetite for Star Wars, the characters and the gadgets, with people of all ages taking a real interest. “
Paul Truesdale, 99th Garrison membership officer said, “With members from all over the country including Merseyside, Lancashire, the Midlands and the North East, the Spaceport event offers our members a great opportunity to meet up and indulge in our passion for science fiction, to enjoy ourselves, make people smile and help charities.
“This is one of our biggest events of the year and I would invite anyone interested in Star Wars to come along and enjoy the day. “
