The next exhibition at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, Birkenhead, will be the annual Wirral Spring Exhibition of Art & Photography.
This exhibition brings together work by the whole community of local artists, from professional painters to just-starting amateurs. Everybody with a link to Wirral is entitled to enter work which goes through a selection process before being accepted into the exhibition.
The art section is selected by a panel and one or more prizewinner is purchased for the gallery's own collection.
The photography section is chosen by a differrent panel, with support from the Birkenhead Photographic Association, and a small cash prize gven jointly by the BPA and the Friends of the Williamson.
In addition, throughout the exhibition, visitors vote for their favourite item, the one receiving the most votes winning the Kriterion Award, named after the local art critic Mrs Kay Greenwood Casey.
Entries will be accepted on March 1st, 2nd & 3rd between 10.30 & 4.30 at the Williamson.
The entry fee for each work is £5 and only one work in each section may be entered by each artist.
The exhibition will be on show at the gallery from 23rd March to 5th May, Tuesday - Sunday 10am - 5pm.
