Award winning Wirral hotel, Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa, is celebrating being listed in the 2014 Michelin Guide for both the hotel and The 2 AA Rosette - Lawns restaurant.
Michelin's Guide listings are selected by Michelin's esteemed and anonymous food inspectors and represent restaurants that achieve standards that demand recognition well beyond their local area.
The 2014 edition showcases the very best British restaurants including a diverse range of cuisine types where cooking is underpinned by the exquisite selection and sympathetic treatment of the highest quality ingredients, cooking talent and judgment of flavour combination.
The renowned Michelin star still remains the most celebrated international distinction for any hotel or restaurant. The team of Chefs at The Lawns restaurant, have worked and trained at some of Europe’s top Michelin starred eateries, and the aim is to head towards achieving Michelin Star status for The Lawns
Geoff Dale, General Manager of Thornton Hall Hotel, said: “We were delighted to achieve such a respected listing for both our hotel and for The Lawns restaurant. We have invested heavily in both the hotel and The Lawns to ensure it is the most exclusive fine dining restaurant in the area. The Michelin Guide recognition proves that we are heading towards being recognised in this way”
The Michelin guide is the most eagerly awaited publication in the hospitality industry, released at this time each year. The guide ranges from B&Bs, to pubs, stylish hotels and world class restaurants offering great value and something for everyone.
Geoff said: “The hotel and the restaurant already has an excellent reputation across the region for fine dining, which I am aiming not just to maintain, but to enhance and develop. It’s very much family-run that provides an outstanding customer experience.”
