Wirral actors join forces for Halloween Horror Night at Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton

Fort Perch Rock will host a fortnight of frightening good fun in the run-up to the spookiest day of the year.

Wirral actors Saul Murphy, Phil Perez and James Podmore – Redcap Productions – have teamed up to create Halloween Horror Night: The Creeps at the New Brighton Fort from October 19 to 21 and October 25 to 31.

In keeping with the scary theme, 13 shows are planned each night. Visitors will follow the story of a young mother and her daughter, who disappeared from New Brighton in strange circumstances.

Three paranormal investigators set up camp at Fort Perch Rock to trace their whereabouts and investigate reported supernatural occurrences – but they have not been seen since.

Saul, 35, from Wallasey, said: “We have always wanted to create a theatrical Hallowe’en event with a narrative using actors.

“It will be a promenade performance with some frights along the way but I didn’t want to do something that was just people jumping out – it had to have a story.

“The audience will go into lots of different rooms and meet the characters along the way. We wanted to do something local and New Brighton is an ideal place for it – it’s on the up and there is free parking.

“It has some great locations and we are grateful for the hire and support of the Fort.”

Saul, Phil and James have been planning the show for 18 months, and Saul said: “All three of us had different ideas about what is and isn’t scary.

“I think people generally go not just to be entertained but they want to feel scared. We want to make it feel as real as possible.

“We are very excited about the project and have already started planning next year’s storyline.”

Tickets for The Creeps are £10 from www.ticketswirral.co.uk or call the Floral Pavilion Theatre box office on 0151 666 0000.

Entrance times are 5.40pm, 6pm, 6.20pm, 6.40pm, 7pm, 7.20pm, 7.40pm, 8pm, 8.20pm, 8.40pm, 9.20pm, 9.40pm and 10pm, with additional later times on Hallowe’en.

The running time of the show is approximately 30 minutes.

It is not suitable for children under 13 and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult
