Wirral Council Launches Nature Guide
9th December 2009
A new guide to the great outdoors around the coast of Wirral has been published by the council’s tourism officers.
The booklet, Wirral Nature Guide, is an introduction to coastal wildlife and their habitats.
It is aimed at encouraging residents and visitors to explore the coastline – from the woodlands and wild grasslands to the rocky shores and golden sands.
The sections include the Dee Eastuary, with Wirral Country Park and West Kirby, the North Wirral foreshire of Hoylake, Meols and the North Wirral Coastal Park and the Mersey estuary, with new Brighton and Eastham Country Park.
There is also a map of the peninsula.
Juggy Landay, destination marketing manager, said: “The Wirral Peninsula boasts some of the best countryside in this part of the world and is home to all sorts of amazing wildlife.
“The guide has been launched to encourage people to get out and about and to find out more about what they can see right on their doorstep.”
The guide can be downloaded from the website at visitwirral.com or by calling 666 3188
