Wirral Festival of Firsts
Wirral Festival of Firsts was established in Hoylake in 2011 to deliver an innovative, community based arts festival to encourage participation, the showcasing of local talent as well as the opportunity for the community to access and enjoy some examples of the best art, music and poetry in the country.
The annual event runs in for two weeks in July at various venues in Hoylake and around Wirral. This year's festival runs between 9th-24th July.
The programme of events will include the likes of Poetry Proms, story telling, Art on the Prom, live music including a jazz parade and film showings.

Chris Tarrant - an audience, hosted by John Gorman, in aid of Claire House, Westbourne Hall, West Kirby, Saturday 30th May 2015 at 7.30p, Tickets £15. A free-ranging conversation about life as a media personality! Chris Tarrant OBE is a well-known British radio and television broadcaster and media personality.
Polar Bear, led by drummer Seb Rochford, Floral Pavilion Blue Room, Sunday 5th July 2014 at 7.30pm, Tickets £13.50. Twice-nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, Polar Bear have forged a reputation for themselves as one of the most exciting groups on the contemporary music scene.
Craig Ogden & Miloš Milivojević In concert, Hoylake Chapel, Wednesday 8th July7.30pm Tickets £12. Favourite classical Guitarist Craig Ogden returns to Hoylake bringing with him Serbian accordion maestro Miloš Milivojević.
Roger McGough As Far as I Know, Hoylake Community Centre, Saturday 11th July 2015 at 7.30pm, Tickets £15. For adults & 14+, followed by booksigning. Roger McGough “the Patron saint of poetry” (Carol Ann Duffy) visits the heart of Hoylake with his new book of poems As Far as I Know. A new collection by Roger McGough is always an event and As Far As I Know is truly a cause for celebration.
