Producer of the Year Awards at Wirral Farmers’ Market

8th June 2009

Get down to Wirral Farmers’ Market next weekend and add your vote to help us celebrate our best producers.

The popular Producer of the Year Awards returns again this year and now is the chance to recognise your favourites.

Voting ballots will be at the market and you can fill them in there and then or get online to cast your vote before the July market.

The popular ‘Producer Awards’ allow us to thank producers for their efforts in bringing top quality, tasty and unusual food to Wirral every month.

Show your favourite producers how much you appreciate them, by voting. The categories are:-

  • Best product
  • Most unusual product
  • Best presented stall
  • Best customer service
  • Best producer overall

Voting is open to all, but if customers are a member of the Friends of Wirral Farmers’ Market, they will be placed in a prize draw to win a £50 hamper.

This makes it the perfect time to join the Friends of Wirral Farmers’ Market, which only costs £1, and members are placed in a prize draw each month to win £15 worth of vouchers to spend at the market.

Either fill in your entry at the market and drop it off at the Friends of Wirral Farmers’ Market stall or check out www.wirralfarmersmarket.co.uk where forms will also be available.

The winners will be awarded their certificates at the July market, which marks the .

The next Wirral Farmers’ Market takes place on Saturday, June 13, at New Ferry Village Hall from 9am.

There is a large variety of food on offer at the market including award-winning cheeses, sausages, Welsh Black Beef, lamb, free range chickens, smoked food, fresh fish, free range eggs, local honey, pies, plants, cakes and soups along with plenty of seasonal vegetables. You name it, Wirral Farmers’ Market has it.

Wirral Farmers’ Market is a voluntary organisation set up to regenerate the area and its surroundings, and works in partnership with New Ferry Regeneration Group.

It is run by volunteers, who live and work in the area and organise the market in their spare time.
