Take a guided tour to the top of the 18th Century lighthouse that stands in the middle of the North Wirral Coastal Park. Tours cost £2 per adult and £1 per child. Mud’n’Marsh
Join the Rangers at Banks Road, Lower Heswall where the mudflats of the Dee Estuary meet the marsh. As the tide rises thousands of wading birds will be forced off their feeding grounds to roost in the cover of the marsh. McFinch’s Fly-Thru
Come down to Wirral Country Park and make a bird feeder for your back garden. With shorter days and colder nights its time to help our feathered friends to survive the winter. The event is free. But you can make a donation to help the Rangers buy seed for their own Fly-Thru feeding station at the Visitor Centre Bird Hide. Suitable for all the family to enjoy. The West Wirral Walk – (The Real Deal!)
We set out again on a ramble across the rolling countryside of West Wirral. Visit the Dungeon Woodland; call in at Thurstaston Church Yard to see the Ismays Tomb. Then climb Thurstaston Common one of the highest points in Wirral, before dropping down into Royden Park for lunch. After lunch set off along the footpaths of Frankby before arriving at Stapledon Woods, from here it’s through to Caldy Hill and then back down to the Wirral Way returning to the Visitor Centre at Wirral Country Park. The woods are just waking up after their winter slumber and birds and mammals are on the move! With the leaves not yet out now is a great time to have a walk in the woods.
