Facilities

Held on the second Saturday of each month and possibly the largest market of it's kind in the North West.

There is the usual large variety of food on offer at the market including award-winning cheeses, quail’s eggs, sausages, Welsh Black Beef, lamb, free range chickens, smoked food, fresh fish, free range eggs, local honey, pies, plants, cakes and soups along with plenty of seasonal vegetables.

You name it, Wirral Farmers Market has it, but make sure you come early to get the best of what is on offer.

Wirral Farmers Market is run by a group of volunteers, who live and work in the area and organise the market in their spare time.

The Wirral Farmers Market was set up to regenerate the area and its surroundings, with support from New Ferry Regeneration Group, North West Fine Foods, Lairdside Community Trust and Health Links.

Refreshment bar and free car parking.

WIRRAL FARMERS' MARKET SHORTLISTED FOR NATIONAL AWARD

It’s celebrations all round as Wirral Farmers’ Market is shortlisted for a national award.

The market is one of only three in the country to reach the finals of the prestigious BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards.

This year's award winners will be featured on Radio 4's The Food Programme and Farming Today, and also on BBC Local Radio.

The category of the best UK Farmers’ Market is included for the first time this year to mark the fact that is 10 years since the first farmers’ market took place in the UK .

“We were absolutely stunned to get the call telling us we were shortlisted but obviously incredibly delighted. It is a great boost for the team of volunteers who keep the market going and for all the producers who work so hard to produce top quality, fresh food and drink,” said chairman Anne Benson.

“It is also great that this month we are able to launch our great new website www.wirralfarmersmarket.co.uk thanks to www.wirralphoto.com, who have created a site featuring all our news and all the producers that are at the market. They have also designed us a great new logo. We are also getting our own blog at www.wirralfarmersmarket.merseyblogs.co.uk

“It has been an amazing month all round and this month’s market promises to reflect that, so come along and get the best produce available.”

The market is run completely by volunteers for the benefit of the community and to help the regeneration of the area. Since 2003, it has put £16,000 back into the community around New Ferry, through grants and financial support.
