Brimstage

Brimstage is a beautiful village set in an idyllic location and can be found in the heart of rural Wirral.

Once there you'll discover Brimstage Hall, which is thought to have have been constructed some time between the 12th and 14th centuries, and to this day it retains many of its original medieval features. The first known occupants of the Hall were Sir Hugh Hulse and his wife, who were granted the right to construct a chapel on the site in 1398, and it was home to aristocracy for centuries to come.

These days the Hall has been converted to house shops and businesses in it's main courtyard and is seen as an important local landmark; the reported presence of a number of regularly-visiting ghosts on the site don't seem to have dampened shoppers' spirits.

The "Voirrey" one of the finest centres for embroidery in Britain often hosts national and international touring exhibitions. As well as running short courses for beginners, and the more experienced, the Craft Centre regularly hosts needlework exhibitions, which together with the other Brimstage craft shops, forms the basis of a great day out.

Don't forget to include Brimstage Hall in your visit, with its 12th Century Crypt, the "home-cooking" of the Country Mouse Restaurant, and the abundance of gift ideas from the local quality shops!
