Wallasey Town Hall acted as a hospital with accommodation for 350 beds during World War 1.
The Town Hall Tower rises 180 feet above the promenade. At the corners are four groups of statuary, the central figure in each being a female draped figure representing PEACE, COURAGE, PRUDENCE and INDUSTRY. These then are ‘The Ladies of the Tower’.
