Tam O Shanter Urban Farm
A small city farm, Tam O Shanter is centred around a thatched cottage on the outskirts of Birkenhead. Ideal for families with small children, the collection of farm animals and nature trails makes a great day out.
The aim of the farm was to establish a small working farm in an urban setting to make it accessible to many people, especially children, The farm has taken great care to be a safe place for children to play and adults to relax, to be accessible for disabled people and to be educational as well as a fun place to visit. All paths are wheelchair accessible.
Today the farm is more popular than ever, and is visited by hundreds of people each week. The farm is open every day of the year, come rain or shine, and admission is free for all. There is a cafe, and play areas for children as well as an activity room.
The free carpark alongside the Farm gives access to Bidston Hill, which is a large area of heath and woodland, with a disused windmill and many historical features to explore.
