Wirral Folk on the Coast Festival

In June this year, Wirral is to again host to the successful WIRRAL FOLK ON THE COAST MUSIC FESTIVAL and this year it will be bigger and better than ever!

All on one very scenic site at the OC Sports and Leisure Centre in Bromborough, the festival takes place over the weekend of 4th to Sunday 7th June.

An exciting line-up of local and national folk artists, who specialise in performing both contemporary and traditional music, are to be performaing and will be the principal entertainers at five main concerts, commencing on Friday evening (ticket only).

Four additional shows will take place on Saturday afternoon and evening and similarly on Sunday. Artists include:
Martin Carthy, Chris While & Julie Matthews, Harvey Andrews, Jez Lowe, Les Barker, Keith Donnelly, Anthony John Clarke, Johnny Silvo, Tom Topping Band, Fiona Simpson, John O’Connell, Full House, Zoe Mulford, Joe Topping, Colin Henderson, Phil Chisnall, Vocal Point, Alison Parker & the Third Man and the Shellback Chorus.

In addition to the concerts there will be an extensive presentation of music and dance fringe entertainment held in and around the recently refurbished main Centre building. Most of the fringe entertainment is free for all to attend. This spectacle will include rolling folk club concerts, singarounds, late night extra music sessions, Appalachian dancers, French Jive dancers, Traditional Welsh dancers, Belly dancers and music training workshops.

A large Craft Fair will also be located in the grounds, which will feature arts and crafts created by both local and visiting craft-persons.
