The Accommodation of the month is Mere Brook House

Mere Brook House is an imposing Edwardian country house offering high class bed and breakfast on the Wirral. It is situated in its own grounds extending to almost four acres which include a beautiful garden with sunken dell sheltered by mature trees with paddocks and a woodland area beyond running down to the Mere Brook. It is situated on the edge of the picturesque village of Thornton Hough on the Wirral, between the famous cities of Liverpool and Chester.

Mere Brook House has recently been renovated by a team of dedicated craft and trades people to update its facilities whilst retaining and enhancing many of its traditional features. In keeping with the relaxed atmosphere of a private country house the four bedrooms have been individually designed using a mix of antique and contemporary furniture and fabrics and whilst all rooms have refreshment facilities we like our guests to help themselves to the continuous supply of home made cakes, biscuits, cheese, tea and coffee available from the kitchen and to relax in the oak panelled lounge, or garden lounge overlooking the gardens.

Mere Brook is coming a popular venue in connection to weddings – we’ve had a wedding reception, several bride and grooms staying in our balcony room, many guests attending local weddings and the New Year saw our first bride leave with her father for the wedding reception and return later with her groom ! – and then the party continued here with a lunch for 35 the following day.

For foodies Mere Brook House has teamed up with the well known Chef n Farmer team Brian Mellor, Master Chef and Andrew Pimbley from Claremont Farm to provide you with a truly unique and exciting weekend involving a farm walk, cooking demonstration, lots of tastings and chat in wonderful surroundings.
