Type: Pub/Inn

Situated in the conservation area of Barnston on the Wirral Peninsula, the present pub was built about 1911 on the site of an Ale House & Barn. A lot of the original character was retained when downstairs living accommodation was converted into drinking space in 1984. The Lounge Bar is perfect for a quiet drink or an ideal dining area. The original bar is still in place and the open fire creates a homely atmosphere on those cold winter days. Most of the Edwardian building's character has been preserved, including pitch pine woodwork and leaded windows.

Appearing in the Good Pub Guide and CAMRA Good Beer Guide, ‘The Fox’ has a fantastic choice of real ales, lagers, fine wines and over 60 whiskies.

Enjoy the peaceful beer garden on a summer’s day, perfect for a refreshing drink or bite to eat. The traditional menu consists of home-cooked pub food along with a wide range of hearty meals and daily specials including: steak pies, lamb shank, fish of the day, and vegetarian choices like vegetable lasagne. Every Sunday enjoy a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings. The Fox now also serves its delicious menu in the evenings.
