We simply have to start with Restaurant Fraiche. Marc Wilkinson, Chef-Patron of Fraiche was awarded a Michelin Star in January 2009, which has been retained ever since, making Fraiche one of the top restaurant destinations in the North West.
It is has named in the Which Good Food Guide several years running and is in the top 10 restaurants in the UK, as well as recently named Number 1 in The Sunday Times top best 100 restaurants list.
If fine dining in spectacular surroundings is what you’re after, then the Riviera Restaurant at the incredible Hillbark Hotel may be one you need to look at. The elegant 3 AA Rosette restaurant is situated within Merseyside’s first five-star hotel at Royden Park, and has rapidly established itself as a premier gourmet dining destination. Extravagantly furnished with an opulent yet relaxing candlelit ambience, the menu offered here includes an imaginative selection of English and Continental haute cuisine, prepared by the Executive Chef and team.
Or, relax in one of their public rooms for afternoon cream tea or champagne and caviar, marvelling at the views across the meadow and the lush green surroundings of Royden Park.
With three AA Rosettes for fine dining and being mentioned in the Michelin Guide, Lawns Restaurant at Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa is another high-quality restaurant in Wirral, offering a choice of menus with superb international cuisine. Lawns also offers an extensive selection of wines from around the world and can provide private dining within The Oak Room for those special occasions.
As the name suggests Lawns offers superb views of its beautifully manicured grounds, perfect to enjoy their delicious afternoon tea.
For those with a taste for international cuisine, Da Piero is an authentic Italian restaurant in Irby, mentioned in the Good Food Guide 5 years in a row and in the Michelin Guide 6 years in a row. Meanwhile another Italian restaurant, Gusto, is inspired by the elegant charm of a classic Italian ristorante with a contemporary buzz and a modern, stylish interior.
Gusto brings the true "taste and enjoyment" of Italy to its guests and has received the Wirral Tourism Award for 'Outstanding Young Person' in 2013 - Layla Jayne Wake. The restaurant and bar has a fabulous sun terrace on which to dine or simply sip a chilled beer to end the day, whilst the interior is truly magical, made really special by the 200-year-old olive trees growing down the centre of the restaurant.
The Riviera Brasserie & Bar in Port Sunlight oozes charm and sophistication in a modern, pristine, light and airy culinary setting that merges seamlessly with the elegance of this lovingly restored Art Deco boutique hotel. The two AA Rosette Riviera features a simple yet delicious interpretation of French Mediterranean, Ligurian and Nicoise cuisine. Riviera also offers a delightful afternoon tea menu.
Ajoined to the Holiday Inn Express Hoylake is Marco's New York Italian, a new concept developed by Marco Pierre White, serving up superb New York Italian food in a relaxed, affordable and family-friendly setting.
Inglewood Manor, a delightful and welcoming Edwardian country house hotel, nestles in 38 acres of exquisite grounds. Whether it is evenings in the restaurant, al fresco lunches on the terrace or afternoon tea in the lounge, Inglewood offers a variety of dining options.

If you’re looking for something a little more historic and traditional than modern and contemporary, the restaurant at Leasowe Castle could be the one for you. The hotel itself is situated in six acres of land and was originally built in 1953, with its restaurant located within the castle looking out onto these beautiful grounds.
The Riverhill Hotel Restaurant Oxton, set in beautiful grounds, offers a warm welcome, impeccable service and a memorable dining experience at its Riverhill Restaurant.
