As you gaze out to the Dee Estuary, your eyes will undoubtedly set upon one of the jewels in Wirral’s crown - Hilbre Island. At low-tide, you can walk to the island and take in some of the incredible views and amazing wildlife that call the island home, from rare birdlife to Grey Seals. Be sure to read up on walking to the island before you go, check the tides, wear appropriate footwear and be mindful that the island has no shops, toilets or drinking water.

Whether sailing or windsurfing is your forté, the Marine Lake  is where to head if you want to get active on the water. Arguably one of the most reliable and beautiful locations for water sports in the North West, the lake provides coastal wind strengths without needing to wait for the tide.
