Family Activities

There are a whole range of activities suitable for families of all ages in and around Wirral - check out some of the ideas below:

  • Spaceport - Blast off on a virtual journey through space and time at the amazing space-themed attraction at Seacombe Ferry Terminal. This year there is a special Wallace and Gromit exhibition.
  • You can take a trip on the famous Ferry across the Mersey or combine this with visits to the U-boat Exhibition, see the new Wallace & Gromit in space exhibition at Spaceport, the Beatles Story to see the Fab4 or for younger children there is Play Planet.
  • New Brighton is a seaside resort located in the north east corner of Wirral. Home to the Floral Pavilion Theatre and Conference Centre. New Brighton is currently undergoing a £60 million redevelopment scheme, for details visit Marine Point or Invest Wirral.

New Brighton has a wide range of attractions and facilities, including the Riverside Bowling Alley, the Laser Quest centre, and the New Palace Amusement Arcade - which includes a small fairground.Along the coast, there is Fort Perch Rock, which is a coast battery defence and it open throughout the year. Visit Vale Park throughout the summer to enjoy some fabulous music from the Summer Band Festival.   • National Waterways MuseumNational Waterways Museum - With its delightful waterside setting, flotillas of historic boats and fascinating displays housed in fine Victorian buildings, the museum is a great day out whatever the weather.
  • Play Planet - Play Planet is a fantastic new space themed soft play area for children aged 2 - 9 years.
  • Blue Planet Aquarium - From swamps to sharks and tarantulas there is more to this aquarium than just fish!
